Welcome to Bloodhound Magazine! My name is Andersen Beck. I'm a journalist born and raised in Pittsburgh. I started Bloodhound for two reasons. The first reason is to serve all the incredible young artists across the Pittsburgh region, as I feel they are criminally overlooked by the people of this city. The second reason is that I'll never be satisfied with any work I do in life until I devote myself like a madman to a wild pipe dream. After all, a man's gotta make something of himself if he's to be of any value in this lovely American system :)

I love Pittsburgh. I have a fierce, undying loyalty to this city of bridges and rivers and hills. I have always thought Pittsburgh should have the very best resources, and I feel a sense of duty to contribute to that in what ways I can, and it happens to be that I have a knack for journalism. But enough of the bleeding-heart drivel, let's talk brass tacks.

Bloodhound is an independent news outlet for artists. The name of the game here is authenticity. Art is nothing if it's not earnest. We're starting from nothing here, but I aim to make Bloodhound a platform to promote local art, music, and style. I have a lot of goals for Bloodhound and I hope you stick around just to see what happens. If my experience as a journalist has taught me anything, it's that the craziest things happen when you least expect it, and once you hop on a buckin' bronc, you'd best ride it out until the end.

I'll be workin' like a dog to search out high quality stories of considerable interest, but if you, the reader, have any suggestions for stories or leads on sick art, I urge you to email me at bloodhound.mag@gmail.com. News for the people means news by the people, know what I'm saying? I hope to hear from you, as you will certainly be hearing from me, solicited or elsewise.

Stay real, stay open-minded, make cool shit. I'll probably write about it.
